On February 24, the 11th meeting of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development was held under the chairmanship of Ali Ahmadov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development. Deputy Chairman of the Council, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and members of the Council took part in the meeting held in the format of a video conference.

At the event, Ali Ahmadov drew attention to the work done in the direction of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in our country during the past period, as a result of the effective cooperation established in the process of implementing the SDGs, the position of Azerbaijan in the 2020 Sustainable Development Report of the United Nations (UN) has improved. According to the report, our country ranked 54th among 166 countries of the world on the "Sustainable Development Goals Index" by scoring 72.6 points out of 100, leaving all neighboring countries behind with this indicator. It was reported that the third Voluntary National Report will be presented by the Republic of Azerbaijan at the High-Level Political Forum of the UN Economic and Social Council to be held in July 2021, and work is currently underway to prepare the report. Azerbaijan will be the first country in the region to submit a Voluntary National Report for the third time.

At the meeting, "Current situation and upcoming tasks in the field of statistical data production on SDG indicators approved as a national priority", "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development and the state of preparation of the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2025 prepared in this framework" ", "Final Report for 2020 on the work done and achievements in Azerbaijan in connection with the implementation of the SDGs to be presented to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and "The report of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be presented to the High-Level Political Forum of the United Nations in July 2021 Reports were heard on the topics of "current situation regarding the preparation of the third Voluntary National Report".

In order to present to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Final Report on the work done and achievements in Azerbaijan for 2020 in connection with the implementation of SDGs was discussed and approved by the members of the Council. relevant recommendations and tasks were given regarding the preparation of the third Voluntary National Report.
