On June 21, the eighth meeting of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development was held in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development Ali Ahmadov spoke about the issues on the agenda of the meeting. He said that the main purpose of the meeting was the presentation and approval of the Second Voluntary National Report to be submitted to the High-Level Political Forum of the United Nations, as well as the inclusion of representatives of new institutions in the Working Groups consisting of representatives of state bodies in order to effectively organize the activities of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development.

Informing about the preparation of the presentation of the Second Voluntary National Report, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Azerbaijan will be one of the 14 countries that will submit the second report on sustainable development to the UN. All the achievements of Azerbaijan as a rapidly changing young country, as well as the issues directly related to the development of the human factor in our country, are reflected in this report. Ali Ahmadov emphasized that the document broadly mentions the reforms implemented in the social sphere in Azerbaijan at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, and the measures taken to increase the social well-being of the country's citizens. Saying that the document was prepared with high professionalism, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the activity of the working groups created within the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development in this field.

Then, Huseyn Huseynov, secretary of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, made a presentation on both issues on the agenda. After the presentation, there were speeches by Council members. At the meeting, it was stated that after the National Coordinating Council started its activities, enough work has been done and important tasks have been fulfilled.
In the end, the Second Voluntary National Report, as well as the inclusion of representatives of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan and the Confederation of Trade Unions in the Working Groups of the Council, consisting of representatives of state bodies, were approved by the Council.
